Description

KTM, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, has announced that it will cut around 500 jobs worldwide.

The workforce reduction will mainly affect Austria KTM 2026-AT , where around two-thirds of the cuts are expected, while the remaining positions will be eliminated in other countries. The measures primarily target white-collar staff and middle management and will be implemented largely through dismissals. The restructuring also includes simplifying the model range, reducing management layers, and reorganising IT and internal processes.

The measure is part of a broad 2026 restructuring programme aimed at reducing fixed costs and restoring competitiveness following the company’s insolvency in late 2024.

Founded in 1934 and headquartered in Austria, KTM is one of Europe’s best-known motorcycle producers. The company is owned by India's Bajaj Mobility. At the end of 2025, KTM employed around 3,800 people worldwide. The company operates in Austria, India, China, and the Philippines.

Previous restructuring programmes have been recorded for KTM (Pierer Mobility) in 2024: Pierer Mobility 2024-WO
