Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German company Bosch Engineering, a subsidiary of Bosch, has announced plans to cut 460 jobs worldwide.
In Germany, the company is to cut 380 jobs at its Abstatt site Bosch Engineering 2025-DE . The company first outlined this restructuring initiative in August 2025 and plans to complete it by 2027. Job reductions will be carried out through voluntary exit programmes.
Additionally, Bosch Engineering will cut another 80 jobs in different locations worldwide.
The decision is attributed to ongoing challenges in the automotive industry, including persistent overcapacity and mounting cost pressures. Job reductions will be carried out through voluntary exit programmes and severance packages.
Bosch Engineering specialises in developing solutions for vehicle and engine manufacturers. Globally, Bosch Engineering employs around 3,000 people.
