Description

German company Bosch Engineering, a subsidiary of Bosch, has announced plans to cut 380 jobs at its Abstatt and, to a lesser extent, Holzkirchen sites. The company first outlined this restructuring initiative in August 2025 and plans to complete the restructuring exercise by 2027.

The decision is attributed to ongoing challenges in the automotive industry, including persistent overcapacity and mounting cost pressures.

Job reductions will be carried out through voluntary exit programmes and severance packages.

Bosch Engineering specialises in developing solutions for vehicle and engine manufacturers. In addition to its headquarters in Abstatt and its site in Holzkirchen, the company operates further locations in Ingolstadt and Braunschweig. Globally, Bosch Engineering employs around 3,000 people, including approximately 2,200 in Germany.

The job cuts are part of a global restructuring exercise, with Bosch Engineering set to cut an additional 80 jobs in different locations worldwide.
