Description
Poczta Polska, the Polish Post Office, will offer voluntary redundancy to 9,300 employees, representing 15% of its workforce, across Poland.
The reduction of employment is part of the first stage (to be finalised by the end of 2024) of a large restructuring action aimed at reducing costs and adapting to a changing market. The redundancy package offers employees 12 months' salary. The redundancies are said not to affect mail carriers or workers in post office branches.
Poczta Polska is currently Poland's second-largest employer with over 62 000 employees, but has faced financial challenges in the past years, recording a record loss of 621 million zloty (€145 million) last year. A recent restructuring event of Poczta Polska has been recorded in the ERM events database Poczta Polska-2023-PL.
