Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Consultancy firm Ernst & Young Ireland is to create approximately 600 jobs across its offices in the Republic of Ireland. It is also recruiting approximately 300 people for its Belfast office. The new roles are across a wide range of areas including tax, audit, corporate finance and consulting, as well as in new growth areas, including technology consulting, digital and emerging technology, data analytics, cyber security, sustainability, law, strategy and transformation. About one-third of the new positions are for graduates.
The company currently employs 4,200 people on the island of Ireland and this will increase to 5,100 on the island of Ireland after the new jobs are filled.
In 2021, Ernst & Young announced an expansion throughout the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (EY-2021-WO). In addition, Ernst & Young Ireland also announced an expansion (EY-2021-IE).
