Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The largest global consulting company Ernst and Young (EY) has announced that it will create 816 new jobs worldwide within the next year. The business expansion applies to six offices in Ireland and one in the UK. Over half of the positions will be offered to experienced specialists, with the remainder destined for new graduates. A quarter of the new jobs will be in Waterford, Limerick, Galway, Cork and Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK); while three quarters will be in Dublin. The new employees will be sourcedĀ from fields such as sustainability, economics, audit, tax, cyber security, technology and law.
EY provides auditing services, tax consultancy, business consulting and transaction advisory. EY employs over 312,250 employees worldwide and has over 700 offices in more than 150 countries.
