Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Eiffage Energie Systèmes- Clemessy, a subsidiary of the Eiffage construction group specialised in electrical and mechanical engineering, has announced the recruitment of 700 employees in 2022. The company has a level of activity similar to the one in 2019, with turnover amounting to €790 million in 2021. But, according to the management, recruitment is difficult. Clemessy is looking for profiles ranging from vocational school graduates to expert engineers. 'Technical studies have long been shunned, even devalued, and we are paying for it,' stated Alicia Penet, the Human Resources Director at EES Clemessy. There is a shortage of technical profiles. Of the 700 new jobs, 300 will be created in Alsace.
EES Clemessy provides electrical engineering services and products. It employs 5,000 people in France.
A previous business expansion was recorded in the ERM database in 2018, with 680 jobs created (Eiffage Energie Systèmes Clemessy- 2018-FR).
