Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French nautical manufacturer group Bénéteau has announced the creation of 300 jobs within six months in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (Vendée), where the company is based.
In order to promote its sector, Bénéteau is organising open days on 14 and 28 September. The company is also training internally, as the vast majority of new recruits are people who have never worked in the nautical sector.
Bénéteau has 3,700 employees in the Vendée (7,600 in total worldwide. The group, heavily impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, has announced a reorganisation of 314 to 760 job cuts in September 2020. In 2018, the group announced 490 recruitments in France.
