Description
The Handmade Burger Company, a UK-based chain of burger restaurants, has entered administration and all its 18 outlets across England and Scotland have closed, making 283 employees redundant.
A representative of the joint administrators said that that the business was closed because it had become financially unsustainable as sales declined. According to him, there is an overcapacity in the UK casual dining sector, which has resulted in a high number of bankruptcies in the last years. He added that the administrators would help the affected employees to claim the payments they are entitled to.
