Description
Poczta Polska, the Polish national postal operator, has announced that it will cut 700 jobs at its units across the country in 2020. The programme will mainly affect the administrative department. The decision comes as a response to the changing business profile of Poczta Polska and its efforts to improve operational efficiency.
At present, the company's profitability oscillates around zero, with wages accounting for around 70% of the company’s operational costs. Between 2011 and 2015, the post office operator reduced its employment capacity from 94,000 to 77,000 employees. Since 2016, it has hired more than 4,500 staff and currently employs over 80,000 people.
