Description
Mr Bricolage, a network of DIY stores, has announced the disposal of most of the group's directly owned outlets. A total of 59 outlets have been taken over. Six are the subject of a closure project which was presented to staff representatives. In total, these closures result in 170 job cuts. The group employs more than 10,000 people in France.
The group states that after a year of attempts, no satisfactory solution has been found for the 6 integrated stores located in France. Taking note of this situation, the reorganisation plan provides for their closure. These are the stores in Allonne (Oise), Brive-Mazaud (Corrèze), La-Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée), Lexy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), Montereau (Seine-et-Marne) and Orléans (Loiret). The proposal to terminate the activities of the subsidiaries concerned involves the cut of 170 positions. 'An in-depth and high-quality social dialogue will be conducted with all employee representatives' to support the employees, the group emphasises.
A former reorganisation was already recorded with 238 job cuts announced in 2016.
