Description

McCain Foods (GB), the manufacturer of frozen food products has announced plans to cut jobs at its production plant in Easton, near Grantham in Lincolnshire, putting 230 employees at risk of redundancy. The compulsory consultation period with employees has already started.

A spokesperson for the company said that the aim of the restructuring was to ’optimise’ their UK network of production facilities.

Canada-based McCain Foods is the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen potato products, with production plants across six continents and 21,000 employees. The plant in Easton, formerly known as PAS (Grantham) Limited, is one of the four potato processing plants owned by McCain Foods in the United Kingdom.
