European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Sports Direct International has announced that two House of Fraser department stores will close in early 2020. The store in Milton Keynes will close on 31 January 2020, making all 172 employees redundant. The store in Grimsby is scheduled to close on 1 March, with a loss of 42 jobs.
The CEO of Sports Direct has also said that there were plans for further store closures in the coming months.
Sports Direct acquired House of Fraser in August 2018 and the majority of stores were saved from closure, however, the network remains in administration.
