Description
The Finnish cable harnesses producer PKC Group announced 160 job cuts by the end of 2019, at its production facility in Starachowice, Poland. According to the company, the restructuring programme is due to declining demand for cable harnesses. The company have not announced redundancy plans, as they will dismiss only workers, whose contracts end by the end of the year. The management has warned that there might be further redundancies in 2020.
PKC Group designs and produces wiring systems mainly for the automotive industry, including companies such as Volvo, Scania and MAN Bus. The group has 23 production units in 4 continents with nearly 30,000 employees.
