The electric equipment manufacturer ABB officially opened its fifth production unit in Bulgaria in the town of Petrich on 17 September 2019, creating 420 new jobs. The recruitment has started and around 130 workers have already been hired. The production unit offers a modern workplace for welding, pre-assembly, final assembly and testing for modular DIN rail mounting equipment. ABB provides more than 2,800 jobs in Bulgaria.
The company is subsidiary of the Swiss-Swedish ABB (ASEA Brown Boveri) - a technology leader in electrification, industrial digitisation, motion, and robotics automation, operating in more than 100 countries with around 147,000 employees.
