Description

Wind turbines manufacturing company Vestas announced its plans to downsize its operations in the site of Lauchhammer. The restructuring event derives from market changes, which determine the closure of the production lines for the V136 wind turbines. According to reports, the decision is expected to affect 330 agency employees and 170 employees in satellite activities.

The site in Lauchhammer produces rotor blades for wind turbines. Overall, the company manages two sites in Germany (Lauchhammer and Travemünde), which together have a workforce of 5,370 employees.
