Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Critical Techworks, a joint venture between Critical Software and BMW, plans to create 100 job positions by the end of 2019 and around 500 positions by the end of 2020. The company is looking for software engineers, cybersecurity experts, mobile app developers, data engineers and scientists. The partnership between the tech company and the car manufacturer has already allowed the joint venture to acquire a new facility with a total area of 10,000 square metres in Porto.
The company aims at developing and building the car of the future, with technologies like autonomous driving, infotainment, intelligent driving assistants and electrification. Currently the company has more than 500 workers.
