London Southend Airport announced the creation of 200 new jobs, which are planned to help meeting the increased demand experienced over recent times. Around 150 jobs are expected to cover positions in the ground handling department, which includes baggage and freight handling as well as other incidental roles to prepare planes for departure. The company plans as well to add 35 security positions, 15 cleaning positions and around three or four jobs in the fire department. The airport is holding a recruitment event to attract new staff and to explain the offer of career opportunities.
