Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bathroom manufacturing company Connex Offsite announced the creation of 140 new jobs over the coming five years. The business expansion derives from a GBP 2.5 million (€2.8 million) investment, which also covered the refurbishment of a facility that extends for almost 6,000 square metres. The new employees will help meet the increased demand for the company's modular bathrooms. These are constructed offsite as one unit in order to cut down production time and costs on the construction site, and they are typically used in such buildings like hotels and student accommodation.
The company currently employs 25 staff and a further 19 subcontractors.
