Description
Management at Match/Smatch, part of the Louis Delhaize group of retail outlets, has announced internal restructuring plans within the company. It is planning to close 16 supermarkets - from a total of 111 - across the country in an effort to reduce costs as well as decrease the number of staff at the company head office. The Match/Smatch group has not been profitable since 2013 and lost approximately 22 million Euro last year. The reduction in costs will be accompanied by an additional investment of 40 million Euro in an attempt to make the company profitable again within the coming 3 years.
