European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Car dealership Border Cars announced its closure resulting in the loss of 200 jobs. The company has sites in the South West of Scotland and in Cumbria. The decision is reportedly attributed to challenging market conditions, which the company had experienced over several years. According to reports, the business remains for sale, even though some staff have already received redundancy notices. There is no indication when these notices will take effect, but the job losses are expected to be imminent.
