Description

LCL Crédit Lyonnais has announced the closure of call centres in Bordeaux, Dijon, Nantes, Noisy-le-Grand and Toulouse by 2020, which will result in the loss of 270 jobs, with no forced departures: the employees concerned will be offered outplacement solutions in branches in their region.

This reorganisation should lead to the closure of five of the nine call centres, the largest of which is located in Bordeaux. The aim of the restructuring is to make savings in the operations area and re-focus the call centres tasks into four areas of expertise: consumer credit, real estate, insurance, and sales. The remaining call centres will employ 460 employees and will eventually recruit 170 additional people. In total, net employment will be reduced by 100 positions.

The employees' representatives argue that the reduction in call centres personnel, at a time when the bank is undergoing digitalisation, will put pressure on employees operating in bank branches.

Four former reorganisations were recorded since 2007: 750 job cuts in December 2016140 job cuts in 2016289 job cuts in 2014 ; and3,569 job cuts (and 3,000 job creations) in 2007.
