Description

Spanish hotel company Riu Hotels & Resorts, owned for 50% by German tourist group TUI, announced a collective dismissal plan for the Olivia Beach hotel staff, which is expected to affect 383 workers. According to the company, the measure derives from the deadlock of a renovation plan (valued at €40 million) with the administrative authorities. The renovation plan was tabled in November 2018 in order to reach four-star status. Social partners are planned to meet on 24 July to negotiate the terms of the labour force adjustment.
