Description
The management of the regional hospital of Nancy (Centre hospitalier Régional de Nancy) has announced a cost-saving plan that will result in 598 job cus and the elimination of 174 beds by 2024. The objective is to convince the State to support the reorganisation of the property, which would lead to savings. This would allow it to refocus its activities on 2 sites, instead of 7. The Centre's accounts show a deficit of almost €10 million. The State will say in the autumn whether this plan seems sufficient to continue to support the regional hospital establishment.
The unions oppose this reorganisation. According to the CFDT, this proposal is exaggerated, especially since there is no guarantee that the State will finally contribute financially to this reorganisation. The CFDT points out that 500 jobs and 200 beds have already been cut but the State, so far, has not decided on supporting the restructuring of the property, which is essential to save the establishment.
