Description
The German car manufacturer Volkswagen has announced that it plans to create 140 jobs at its new logistics hall in Poznań, Poland. The hall enables to reduce transportation activities between the company’s units located in Poznań and Swarzędz; even 260 trips were performed by 10 trucks on this route daily. The restructuring programme is associated with the company’s plan to expand the Poznań factory. The next stage, involving the expansion of the welding shop, is expected to be finished in mid-2020. The company is going to invest about PLN 2 million (€0.468 million) in the Poznań facility by the end of 2020.
Volkswagen is the largest car manufacturer in Poland, and the largest employer in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, employing 11,000 people. Volkswagen Poznań has been operating in Poland since 1993; the company has four production facilities in three Polish cities (Polkowice, Poznań and Września).
