European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Swedish newspaper group MittMedia announced 50 dismissals from their advertisement department MittMedia Annons. The company claims that the job reductions are due to the great reduction in the advertising business of printed newspapers, which is systemic to the entire industry. In light of a recent change in ownership, the job cuts aim at cutting costs and making the company profitable by 2020.
MittMedia has its main office in the city Gävle, Gävleborg and owns several local newspapers in the middle-northern cities of Sweden.
