Description
The online food retailer Ocado has announced that it will make 400 redundancies following a fire at its distribution centre in Andover, Hampshire. The site was shut following the fire, and because the search for other premises was unsuccessful, Ocado has decided to rebuild on the same site. The rebuilding will take approximately two years, hence the need for redundancies. The statutory consultation process is reported to be underway, and Ocado has said that it hopes to reemploy some former staff when the premises becomes operational once more.
