Description
The public Postal company Postnord dismissed 200 out of 800 employees from the headquarter in Stockholm. The reduction is set out as a measure to meet a decreased flow of letters and increase flow of packages. Some of the jobs affected are high level positions, such as the Director of Communications. The re-organisation produces new jobs which are open for the employees to apply for two weeks.
Postnord was created as a merge between the two public owned postal companies in Sweden and Denmark, Posten and Post Danmark. The total workforce in Sweden and Denmark is around 31,000 employees. The Swedish state has 60% of the company's shares, while the Danish state has 40%.
