Description
The US online retail giant Amazon will be opening a new sorting centre in Schönefeld in autumn and thus, creating 100 new jobs until the end of 2019. The new site will be 34,000 sq large and is in the vicinity of the capital’s airport BER.
Local residents protested at the construction site, as they fear that the small village with 200 residents will be swamped. Furthermore, already existing traffic problems will be intensified with approximately 1,000 trucks expected each day.
