Description
The Swedish car company NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden) announced a job creation of over 100 jobs in the city of Trollhättan, which is located in the western part of Sweden. The job vacancies are mainly for engineers and metalworkers and the measure is set out in cooperation with the Municipality of Trollhättan and the Swedish Public Employment Service in order to recruit people standing far away from the labour market due to low educational level and lack of language skills. The main reason for the job creation is a cooperation with the German company Sono, to whom NEVS will produce electric cars. The recruiting will start in 2020 and the plan is to build 260,000 cars over a period of eight years.
NEVS has Chinese owners and was established in 2012 after the bankruptcy of the Swedish car company SAAB, and the old factory in Trollhättan was taken over by NEVS. The company also has a factory in the city of Tianjin, China.
