Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Anglo-Dutch multinational oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell, commonly known as Shell, has announced that it will create 400 new positions at its Shell Business Operations in Kraków in the Kraków Special Economic Zone by the end of 2019. The company has just launched its fifth office in the city. The centre has been operating in Kraków since 2006. The general director commented that they want to maintain economic growth at a similar pace. Currently, the centre employs about 3,600 people responsible for conducting and supporting Shell’s global business operations in the areas of finance, accounting, purchasing, customer service, human resources and others.
