Description

Food manufacturer Finnebrogue has announced plans to create 125 new jobs as it expands its operations in Downpatrick. Around 30 of the positions have already been recruited with the remaining positions expected to be filled by 2022. The site will produce bacon without the use of nitrite, which is thought to be safer. The total investment in the site will come to 17 million GBP (€19.8 million), with 1.3 million (€1.5 million) of that coming from the development agency Invest NI. Once all the jobs are filled, the business will add around 3 million GBP (€3.5 million) to the local economy each year through the employee salaries.
