Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sewan, a telecommunications company founded in 2007, has announced the recruitment of around 100 employees in 2019. Most of the new hires will be in Paris, but also at the Lyon, Le Havre, and Montpellier offices. Among the new announced positions, 50% are aimed at network developers and technicians, 10% at engineers and 20% at customer service representatives. The new employees will work on Sewan's three main areas, namely communication, connection and hosting. The future employees will also support the company's international expansion: after the acquisition of Vozélia, the Spanish operator, at the end of 2017, the company is on the lookout for opportunities in Germany, in the United Kingdom, in Belgium and Italy.
Sewan currently employs 400 people and already recruited 150 people in 2018.
