Description

The management of the cable manufacturer Nexans has announced a reorganisation of its activities in Europe, which should lead to 939 job cuts, including 158 in France. Nexans employs some 2,800 people in France (excluding subsidiaries) out of a total workforce of 25,000 employees worldwide. Nexans generated sales of €6.4 billion in 2017. The 158 positions are expected to be mainly eliminated at its headquarters at La Défense (Paris), and there should be no site closures in France, according to a spokesman. The project aims 'to lighten the company's structure, make it more agile and restore its competitiveness in the long term', according to Nexans's general manager.
