Description

Aldi is to create 500 new jobs in Ireland in 2019. The retailer plans to open seven new stores, adding to the 137 existing stores in the country. The new jobs are for area managers, store managers, and store assistants. Aldi employs around 3,500 people in Ireland and is one of the leading proponents of the Living Wage, currently €11.90 per hour, in what is typically a low wage sector. Aldi employees can earn up €14 per hour.

Previous restructuring took place in 2016, when 400 jobs were created.
