Description
The State Enterprise Centre of Registers in Lithuania intends to dismiss at least 170 employees in different Lithuanian regions by 1 March 2019. The organisation is undergoing internal restructuring procedures and plans to reduce the number of employees in administration. According to the management, the organisation will also refuse staff performing cleaning, safety and other maintenance functions. The organisation has already handed out layoff notices to 240 employees; however, at least 71 employees were offered other positions within the same organisation. Currently the Centre of Registers employs 1,642 employees in Lithuania.
The State Enterprise Centre of Registers is a public entity of limited civil liability incorporated by the Government on the basis of the State-owned property on 8 July 1997. The primary function of the Centre of Registers is the administration of five main state registers, such as Real Property Register and Cadastre, the Register of Legal Entities, the Address Register, the Population Register and the Mortgage Register.
