Description

Itínere, one of the main Spanish infrastructure manager companies, presented a collective dismissal plan for all the 111 employees who work on the AP-1 Burgos-Armiñón highway before the end of the concession contract and its return to public property. The company and the unions are in consultation period. The adjustment will be implemented despite the fact that the Ministry of Development assured that the reversion to the State would not lead to job losses, given that the workers will be offered new conservation contracts that are established to maintain the roads. However, according to UGT, the Ministry has not addressed the public tender to select a company to be responsible for maintaining the AP-1 highway.
