Description

Navantia, a Spanish public company that manufactures military ships and high-tech civilian ships, has informed the union representatives about an investment plan of €95 million per year until 2022 for the digital transformation and optimisation of the shipyards. This investment is expected to create up to 1,658 new jobs until 2022. On the other hand, the company's plan implies early retirements for 2,200 workers, who have been in the company for more than five years and are above 61 years old. The company and the representatives of the workers have laid the foundations to create a collective agreement, which will be the first one in the history of the company.
