Description
Gemini Rail Services, based in the Springburn area of Glasgow, has announced plans to close which will result in the loss of 120 employee jobs plus a further 60 contractor jobs. The company maintains trains for ScotRail and attributed the decision to close to a decline in work orders which resulted from the introduction of new rolling stock. A consultation over the proposed closure is set to start imminently. Both politicians and the Unite union have criticised the decision.
