Description
Carmat, which develops and markets its artificial heart technology, has announced a doubling of its workforce by 2025, after obtaining €30 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The loan is supported by the European Strategic Investment Fund, provided for in the Juncker Plan. This loan has two objectives: to enable the ongoing clinical trial to be finalised in order to obtain CE marking; to promote the transformation of Carmat into an industrial and commercial company by increasing its production capacity. The company thus plans to recruit 180 more people by 2025, mainly in the R&D branch.
