Description
Restaurant chain Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) has announced plans to close 17 of its outlets which will result in the loss of 250 jobs. The chain which operates 80 restaurants across the UK, employing around 2,000 people has agreed the closures as part of a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) with its creditors. A statement from the company confirmed that it would look to deploy affected workers wherever possible, though there is no indication of how likely any redeployment might be. The sites which will be closed under the arrangement have not been disclosed, and nor has the timeframe.
