European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The management of the industrial bread manufacturer Neuhauser (groupe Soufflet) has announced to its Central works' council a large restructuring of its activities that could lead to up to 227 job cuts on a total workforce of 1,707 employees in France. The main job losses will affect the main site, Furst 1, located at Folschviller (Moselle) which currently employs 537 people, with 185 job cuts. The remaining 42 job cuts will affect several logistic sites in France, at Saint-Quentin (Aisne), Tarascon (Bouches-du-Rhöne), Saint-Paul-en-Jarez (Loire), Reims (Marne), Béziers (Hérault), La Seyne-sur-Mer (Var) et Terville (Moselle).
The production of fresh products will be relocated to the Bréal-sous-Vitré site (Ille-et-Vilaine), where 41 jobs will be created. The total net job losses will reach 186 positions. The corn producer Soufflet bought Neuhauser in 2014 and had already launched a reorganisation that led to 110 job cuts (from an initial 370 job cuts announced in 2017). The manufacturer has also 388 employees in Portugal. The turnover of Neuhauser decreased from €428 million in 2016 to €413 million in 2017.
