Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The largest British automotive manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover, opens a new technical engineering centre in Budapest. It will operate with a 100 strong workforce, mostly researchers, engineers and production experts, working on developing and launching new vehicle models. The positions are already open to applicants.
The centre will open in early 2019. The development work of the centre will be part of the global R&D and engineering operation headquartered in the UK. The centre will closely collaborate with the suppliers located in Central and Eastern Europe. JLR has similar development centres in the UK, Ireland, China and North America.
Model development is gaining importance for the firm because, according to the plans, from 2020 all new JLR models will be fully electric or hybrid.
