European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Canada-based Magna inaugurated on 11 of October 2018 a new 6,000 square metres car seats production facility in the Czech town of Chomutov. The business expansion will create up to 300 new jobs. The plant has so far created 150 jobs and is expected to add an additional 150 employees throughout 2019. The new plant will be supplying seating systems in various configurations for several BMW models. Production with the capacity of more than 360,000 seat sets per year is expected to start before the end of 2018.
Magna has five production plants in the Czech Republic. Globally, Magna International has approximately 170,000 employees in 28 countries.
