Description

The Authentic Food Company has announced that it is to close its operation in Dundalk, due to the plant’s unprofitability. As a result, 180 jobs will be lost. The joint provisional liquidators, who have been appointed to the company, informed the employees that the company was insolvent and unable to continue paying wages.

The workers' union, Unite, had a meeting with the liquidators and is seeking a meeting with the Minister of Business, Enterprise and Innovation as well. The plant in Dundalk, Co Louth was formerly owned by Heinz, and was acquired by The Authentic Food Company in 2015.
