Description
The South African paper manufacturer Mondi has announced that it will stop the production of industrial bags in Zeltweg by the end of this year, causing 100 employees to lose their jobs. The restructuring is part of the company’s strategy to focus resources on the production of plastic films for barrier coatings, also located in Zeltweg. As of October 2018, 120 people are employed at the site, including temporary staff. Affected employees and trade union representatives have already been informed. A final decision on the number of layoffs is expected to be announced in November.
