Description

Steel mill Huta Pokój, a subsidiary of Węglokoks group, has launched a voluntary departure programme that aims at the reduction of its workforce by 100 positions in Ruda Śląska. Employees can join the programme by the end of October 2018. Redundant workers will receive a severance pay amounting to 3 months’ wages as well as additional financial benefits. The source reports that the conditions of the programme were negotiated with the local trade unions. The voluntary departure programme is part of a larger restructuring plan which is being implemented by the company. As of October 2018, Huta Pokój employs about 850 staff.
