Description

Pharmaceuticals manufacturer, Abbott Ireland, is to hire 500 people 'over the next few years' in Donegal town.

The roles will be in research and development.

The Abbott plant in Donegal currently has 200 employees. Abbott Ireland employs 3000 people in Ireland, across nine sites.

The Donegal plant specialises in treatments for diabetes, manufacturing and distributing Abbotts’ FreeStyle and FreeStyle Lite brands of blood glucose test strips.

Abbott was granted planning permission earlier this year to expand its manufacturing site in Donegal, enabling the jobs expansion.
