Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Telegraph Media Group, the UK-based publisher, has announced that it will create 100 jobs, including 39 positions for journalists, as part of a £10 million (€11.23 million) annual investment in data, technology and brand marketing.
The Group’s CEO has said that the job creation is necessary to improve the digital presence of their publications and increase digital revenues. The business expansion is also linked to the Telegraph’s strategy, launched in September 2017, which aims to ‘re-emphasise’ quality journalism. The company has not given any information about the likely timescale for the job creation.
The Telegraph Media Group is the publisher of The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph and Telegraph.co.uk.
