Description
The US-owned online retailer Amazon has announced that it will create 200 new jobs at its Technology Development Centre in Gdańsk by the end of 2018.
Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company, with headquarters in Seattle, US, currently employs around 566,000 employees worldwide. Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014. In Poland the company employs about 14,000 employees and has five distribution centres, a development centre in Gdańsk and an Amazon web services in Warsaw. Currently, the centre in Gdańsk employs 450 specialists.
In April 2018, the company announced a restructuring programme resulting in the creation of 1,000 jobs at the distribution centre in Sosnowiec.
